Video to Pic

Privacy Policy

Last updated

Video to Pic is made by Rifat Monzur (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what data the Video to Pic app collects, why, who receives it, how long it’s kept, and the choices you have.

The short version

  • Your videos and photos stay on your device. We never upload them, and we can’t see them.
  • The app has no accounts. We don’t ask for your name or email address.
  • To run and improve the app, we use services from Google (Firebase and AdMob) and RevenueCat. They receive device and usage data linked to random identifiers, not to your name.
  • The free version shows ads from Google. Pro removes them.
  • The app doesn’t ask for permission to track you, so it can’t use your device’s advertising identifier.

Your videos and photos

You choose videos with Apple’s photo picker or from the Files app. Video to Pic finds and saves frames on your iPhone or iPad. Your videos and photos are never sent to us or to anyone else.

The app asks for permission to add photos to your photo library. If you choose to keep the video’s metadata when you save a photo, it also asks for full access to your library. It uses that access only to read the date and place of the video you picked, on your device.

If you choose to keep the video’s metadata when you save a photo, the photo can include details such as the date and the place the video was recorded, if the video has them. Metadata Settings on the save screen controls which details are copied. Anyone you share the photo with may be able to see these details.

When you share a photo, it goes only where you send it.

What we collect and why

We don’t collect your name, email address, contacts, or precise location. The services below collect data automatically while you use the app, through code (SDKs) built into it. This data is linked to identifiers that are random or specific to the app on your device, such as a Firebase installation ID, a RevenueCat customer ID, or Apple’s identifier for vendors. It isn’t linked to your name or email address.

Google Analytics for Firebase

How the app is used: for example, which screens you open, which features you use, and whether saving worked. It also receives your device model, iOS version, app version, language, and approximate location (such as country or city) worked out from your IP address. We use this to understand which features matter and to find problems.

Firebase Crashlytics

Crash reports: what went wrong in the app’s code, plus your device model, iOS version, and app version. We use them to fix crashes.

Firebase Remote Config

Lets us change some app settings and try out changes without an app update. It uses a random installation ID.

Firebase Cloud Messaging

If you allow notifications, your device gets a token that lets us send notifications to it.

Google AdMob

Shows ads in the free version. To show and measure ads, limit how often you see the same ad, and prevent fraud, Google collects information such as your IP address, device model, iOS version, and how you interact with ads. Google may use this information to show ads that are more relevant to you. If you’re in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, Google’s consent form asks for your choice first, and you can say no. Learn how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

RevenueCat

Handles Pro purchases: what you bought, when, your subscription status, a random customer ID, and your device and app version. Apple handles the payment itself, so we never see your payment details. If you installed the app after tapping an Apple Ads ad, Apple tells RevenueCat which ad campaign and keyword led to the download, but not who you are. We use this to give you Pro and to see which ads work.

Email

If you email us, for example with Send Feedback, we receive your email address and your message. The email is pre-filled with your app version, device model, iOS version, and whether you have Pro. You can delete these before sending.

Who receives your data

Only the providers above, and only for the purposes described here. Each one handles data under its own privacy policy. We only use providers that protect your data at least as well as this policy describes.

These providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
